INDEXES

1. Indexes/Secondary Sources/ Data Bases

They can either be CD’s or appear on line, they’re reference works and secondary sources. Secondary sources provide useful data for finding documents in the library or in other primary sources (magazines, videotapes, pamphlets, -in some cases, excerpts from books-). These articles are carefully selected from magazines and are ordered by author, title, topic and/or subject. They are ruled by a strict vocabulary and thesauruses, thus allowing librarians and users to develop the following services:

I. Bibliography Service
II. Service for Selective Dissemination of Information
III. Consultation Service
IV. Service for Library User Training

The collection is made up of elements derived from INSPEC, we also have CD’s like the "Science Citation Index” from the American Institute of Physics dated 1998-1999, which is considered an old version.

2. Summaries/ Abstracts/ Excerpts / Extracts

These are selected passages (word by word text) from various authors which are reproduced by the author or editor of a periodical publication, they are carefully selected and classified.

3. Revised Versions / Up Dates / Prior Studies

These revised versions are current and up to date, the studies focus on scientific, statistical and numerable topics, they include many references and citations on the same subject.
